IM/DD Transmission Techniques for Emerging 5G Fronthaul, DCI and Metro Applications

Abstract

Our IM/DD techniques investigations are reviewed. Poly-binary is low complexity and good for the 5G fronthaul and DCI scenarios while DMT is suitable for metro transmission due to better bandwidth utilization and higher dispersion tolerance.
