Abstract

We proposed a cost-efficient large-capacity WDM-SDM optical access network employing MCF and self-homodyne detection. 4 × 6 × 200 -Gb/s PDM-16QAM-OFDM downstream transmission was realized over 37-km 7-core fiber with simplified DSP enabling use of low-cost 10MHz linewidth DFB lasers.
