Low-loss Fiber-bundle-type Fan-in/Fan-out Device for 6-mode 19-core Fiber

Abstract

We describe a low-loss fiber-bundle-type fan-in/fan-out device for 6-mode 19-core fiber, which achieves physical-contact connection. We suppress the mode-dependent loss of the device by accurately arranging fibers and utilizing a precise rotational alignment mechanism.
