On the Use of GMI to Compare Advanced Modulation Formats

Abstract

A variety of advanced modulation formats, including set-partitioning M-QAM, time-hybrid QAM, multi-dimensional formats, geometric- and probabilistic-shaped constellation, are compared by means of GMI metric.
