Optical Filtering Through Frequency-Selective Phase-Sensitive Amplification and De-amplification

Abstract

Utilizing the amplification/de-amplification modes of a phase-sensitive amplifier, we implement a notch filter with extinction ratios given by amplifier gain squared. Bit error rate measurements demonstrate highly effective isolation of a signal-of-interest from neighboring interferers.
