Abstract
A high peak-power, narrow linewidth, 1.5 μm fiber gas Raman source is reported for the first time. A low loss ethane-filled hollow-core fiber is pumped with a 1064 nm microchip laser, generating 1553 nm pulses of 16.6 kW peak power, <0.2 nm linewidth, ~435 ps pulse duration by stimulated Raman scattering of ethane.
