Towards a Fast Centralized Controller for Integrated Silicon Photonic Multistage MZI-based Switches

Abstract

An FPGA-based centralized controller architecture for silicon photonics MZI-based switches is experimentally demonstrated achieving scheduling decision in one clock cycle. To counter process variation affecting the switching bias voltages, a pulse-width modulation technique is presented.
