Abstract

A novel XPolM compensation is proposed for baud-rate optimized transmission. Q-factor for PM-16QAM is 0.2 dB and 0.3 dB improved, respectively in dispersion-uncompensated and dispersion-managed links, reducing 65~80% averaging window size against the conventional method.
