Experimental analysis of twist-induced mode coupling in few-mode fibers

Abstract

Twist-induced mode coupling is experimentally analyzed in a 2-mode fiber by means of the S2 imaging technique. Results confirm a rotation of the transmitted field pattern proportional to the fiber rotation in agreement with the theoretical prediction.
