Pump attenuation assisted one-third harmonic generation in silica-germanate fibers

Abstract

We theoretically study one-third harmonic generation (OTHG) in silica-germanate fibers wherein the efficiency, enhanced by pump attenuation, can reach up to 31% conversion in 34-meter-long fiber, which is 5 times that of the lossless OTHG.
