Fiber-nonlinearity Limitation of Transmission Distances in Ultra-dense Gridless Photonic Networks

Abstract

We investigate the maximum transmission distance of the multilevel-modulation formats for ultra-dense gridless photonic networks based on distance-adaptive modulation. Simulation results show the relationships among the transmission distance, the guard band, and the optical-filter design.
