Abstract

A digital QAM modem concept is proposed and investigated for 400-Gb/s data center modules based on 25G DFB transmitter technology. Monte-Carlo simulations, including DFB nonlinearities and RIN, show 2-dB advantage for QAM over optimized DMT.
