Delay Modulation for TWDM PONs

Abstract

Delay modulation using directly modulated laser at 10Gb/s is demonstrated for TWDM PONs with <1dB dispersion penalty after 20km transmission. Compared to NRZ, delay modulation improves the carrier-to-Raman-crosstalk ratio of RF video by 10dB.
