Flat-top Beam from a 50μm-Core Yb-doped Leakage Channel Fiber

Abstract

Flat-top beam is demonstrated in a 50μm-core leakage channel fiber using a central ytterbium-doped area with an index depression of ~2×10−4, resulting in an effective mode area of ~1880μm2, i.e. >50% increase from uniform core.
