Serial 103.125-Gb/s Transmission over 1 km SSMF for Low-Cost, Short-Reach Optical Interconnects

Abstract

Single-wavelength, serial 103.125-Gb/s transmission over 1 km SSMF is demonstrated using intensity-modulation and direct-detection. The high-speed on-off-keying transmit signal is severely bandwidth-limited by the transmission channel but reliably detected as an electrical duo-binary signal.
