Abstract

We demonstrate a spatial light modulator-based few-mode fiber gain-flattening filter (FM-GFF). Arbitrary insertion loss is induced by a phase scattering function. We use the FM-GFF to flatten the output of a few-mode erbium-doped fiber amplifier.
