Experimental Demonstration of Multi-band Upstream in Statistical OFDM-PONs and Comparison with Digital Subcarrier Assignment

Abstract

A multiband subcarrier allocation scheme is demonstrated for the uplink in a statistical OFDM-PON. Performance achieved is similar to digital subcarrier allocation, with the significant advantage of a lower transmitter complexity.
