Joint ICI Cancellation for Superchannel Coherent Optical Systems in Nonlinear Transmission Regimes

Abstract

A joint-DSP strategy for superchannel coherent optical systems is described and demonstrated. The proposed joint inter-channel interference cancellation algorithm is shown to be effective in the nonlinear transmission regime, yielding 5dB OSNR improvement.
