Fast and Distributed High Resolution Brillouin Based Fiber Optic Sensor

Abstract

We present a fast and distributed high-resolution Brillouin sensor. A sensing speed of hundreds Hz with 5cm spatial resolution is experimentally demonstrated. A comparison between Bragg and Brillouin based sensing methods is also presented.
