Differential Mode Attenuation in MMFs and its Impact on DMD and EMB Measurements

Abstract

Differential mode attenuation in multimode fiber is studied. Measurements show that a higher attenuation of lower order mode groups can explain the measured length dependence of differential mode delay and effective modal bandwidth.
