Real-Time 11.25Gb/s Optical OFDM Transmission over 2000m Legacy MMFs Utilizing Directly Modulated VCSELs

Abstract

Real-time 11.25Gb/s optical OFDM transmissions over 2000m OM1/OM2 legacy MMFs with optical power penalties of <0.5dB are experimentally demonstrated, for the first time, in directly modulated 3.63GHz VCSEL-based IMDD systems subject to central launch.
