50 Gbps Class Transmission in Single Mode Fiber using Discrete Multi-tone Modulation with 10G Directly Modulated Laser

Abstract

We have experimentally demonstrated the highest capacity transmission of 73.2Gbps at back-to-back and 52.8Gbps after 20-km SMF transmission without optical amplifiers and dispersion compensation on discrete multi-tone systems with 10G directly modulated 1550-nm lasers.
