All-optical monolithically integrated differential XOR

Abstract

A monolithically integrated InP optical device performing XOR between a bit sequence and one delayed copy (differential XOR) for encryption, scrambling, PRBS generation, and differential modulation format decoding is presented. Operation at 8/16/32Gbs is reported.
