Nonlinearity compensation using very-low complexity backward propagation in dispersion managed links

Abstract

Low complexity SPM compensation is experimentally demonstrated in WDM transmission over inhomogeneous dispersion-managed links with and without Raman amplification. Significant performance increase can be achieved with the longest reported backward-propagation step-size of 530 km.
