Upstream Transmission of 10-Gb/s QPSK Signal Generated by Directly Modulating RSOA with Instantaneous Injection/Depletion Currents in Coherent WDM PON

Abstract

We propose and demonstrate a simple technique to generate 10-Gb/s QPSK signal by directly modulating an RSOA with instantaneous injection/depletion currents. No electronic equalization technique is needed to overcome the limited bandwidth of the RSOA.
