Si/Ge Avalanche Photodiode Based Electrical Comb Generator for Photonic Ultra-Wideband (UWB) Wireless Communication with Very-High Data Rate

Abstract

We demonstrate novel Si/Ge avalanche photodiodes based electrical comb-line generators, which can directly generate ultra-wideband (10 GHz) comb-lines and short-pulse. By using this device, 1.5Gbps error-free ultra-wideband short-pulse photonic wireless-linking have been successfully achieved.
