Switching Characteristics of 30μm×30μm Compact Optical Switch with Slowing Light

Abstract

Slowing light enables us to realize giant equivalent index changes. We demonstrated a 30μm×30μm slow light optical switch with a large bending angle of 30 degrees. The switching speed is as fast as 8.0 nsec.
