A New Class of Optical Fiber to Support Large Capacity Transmission

Abstract

Linearity-enhanced pure-silica-core fiber with low attenuation (0.16dB/km) and large effective area (130μm2) improving OSNR is presented as new class of fiber to support large capacity transmission. Evolutional fibers are also anticipated over the next decade.
