Unaltered Optical Fiber as an Absolute Wavelength Reference for OFDR Systems

Abstract

We present a novel method of obtaining an absolute wavelength reference for OFDR measurements using Rayleigh backscatter from standard optical fiber. We report 1 GHz (8pm) accuracy.
