Error Free Transmission at 5 Gb/s over 37m of Microstructured Polymer Optical Fibre

Abstract

We demonstrate 5Gb/s transmission in a microstructured PMMA fibre at visible wavelengths. The source used in this measurement is generated by sum frequency mixing a CW Nd-YAG laser with a modulated L Band signal.
