Accounting for PMD Temporal Correlation during Lightpath Set Up in GMPLS-controlled Optical Networks

Abstract

A novel impairment-aware lightpath provisioning scheme, which leverages PMD temporal correlation, is proposed for GMPLS-controlled transparent networks. Simulations show that the scheme reduces the blocking probability, thus allowing larger domains of transparency.
