25 Gb/s Direct Modulation of Implant-Confined Holey VCSELs

Abstract

25 Gb/s direct modulation and bit error measurements over 100m multimode fiber from an 850-nm implant-confined holey VCSEL are demonstrated. The high speed performance arises from cavity designs that are achieved using standard fabrication and epitaxial materials.
