Method for estimating loss over wide wavelength region of fiber cables installed in access networks

Abstract

We propose a simple method for estimating the loss of installed cables to expand WDM access networks. Loss at arbitrary wavelengths can be very accurately predicted from the measured loss at a few wavelengths.
