Synchronous Homodyne Detection of 42.8Gb/s NRZ-ASK Using Standard DFB Lasers

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate synchronous demodulation of 42.8Gbaud using an analog optical phase-locked loop and COTS DFB lasers having an aggregate linewidth of 2MHz. OSNR and CD tolerance are measured.
