Transmission of an ultra-low-jitter RF signal with high output power using all-photonic gain and saturated photodetector

Abstract

All-photonic gain allows for the transmission of an ultra-low-jitter signal over 14 km of fiber. The jitter is 2.75 fs, only 0.3 fs more than back-to-back, while RF output power is increased 7.7 dB.
