Enhanced 10-Gb/s NRZ Transmission Distance using Dual Modulation of an Integrated Electro-absorption Modulated Laser Transmitter

Abstract

We report on the first demonstration of low-penalty error-free 10 Gb/s transmission using an integrated EML transmitter over 113 km thanks to a dual modulation applied simultaneously to the laser and the modulator.
