FEC Optimization for 10-Gb/s WDM PON Implemented by using Bandwidth-limited RSOA

Abstract

We optimize the FEC code for the 10-Gb/s operation of the bandwidth-limited RSOA. The results show that it is possible to transmit 10-Gb/s signal over 20 km with the optimized FEC code in addition to the electronic equalization and dispersion compensation.
