Colorless WDM-PON Performance Improvement Exploiting a Service-ONU for Multiwavelength Distribution

Abstract

A colorless performance-improved WDM-PON compatible with Gigabit-PON is presented. The proposed solution is based on a Service-ONU for multiwavelength distribution. Mitigation of Rayleigh backscattering effect and path-loss degradation is demonstrated in 2.5Gb/s and 10Gb/s schemes.
