Improving the Filtering Tolerance of 42.7-Gb/s Partial-DPSK by Optimized Power Imbalance

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate a novel method to further improve the tolerance of 42.7-Gb/s partial-DPSK to tight optical filtering by applying an optimized power imbalance, allowing the signal to pass 20× 50-GHz filters with <1dB penalty.
