Towards a Transponder for Serial 100 Gigabit Ethernet using a Novel Optical SERDES

Abstract

A 100 Gbps serial transponder is proposed using off-the-shelf 10 Gbps optics, a novel combining optical SERDES and mature optical logic. Data-center and metro connectivity is simulated validating the preliminary design.
