Tunable Photonic Microwave Filter using Slow Light in Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser

Abstract

A tunable photonic microwave filter using slow light in a VCSEL is proposed and experimentally demonstrated for the first time. Tunable microwave notch filter at 20 GHz can be achieved by adjusting the bias current of VCSEL.
