30dBm Wideband Air-Clad EDFA Using Two Pump Lasers

Abstract

The performance of a 30dBm erbium amplifier using air-clad fibre and only two 980nm pumps is reported. The amplifier is characterized by a low noise figure and low gain ripple over the entire C band.
