Abstract

To contain limitations from cross nonlinear effects caused by 10Gb/s NRZ channels onto 40Gb/s coherent PDM-QPSK channels, we investigate the benefits of optimizing the carrier phase estimation process and introducing band-gaps in the multiplex.
