PMD Insensitive Direct-Detection Optical OFDM Systems Using Self-Polarization Diversity

Abstract

Novel self-polarization diversity without dynamic polarization control is proposed to compensate PMD in direct-detection optical OFDM systems. We show that PMD impairments are virtually completely eliminated in the optical OFDM system using this technique.
