Random Error Generator for Verifying FEC Performance of 43-Gbit/s OTN Equipment

Abstract

A novel random error generator has been developed to verify FEC performance. The Poisson distribution characteristics of the generator have been improved greatly by using several techniques to randomize error intervals, supporting precise verification of FEC performance.
