Abstract

We have proposed a novel all-optical NRZ-OOK/RZ-QPSK modulation format converter using parallel SOA-MZI based NRZ-OOK/RZ-BPSK converters in a MZI configuration. We experimentally demonstrate an error-free operation of the proposed modulation format conversion from the bit-rate of 2×10.7 Gb/s NRZ-OOK to 10.7 Gsymbol/s RZ-QPSK.
