Gbps-Rate Channel Translation from Near-Infrared to Visible Band

Abstract

We demonstrate the translation of Gbps channel from the conventional fiber communication band to the visible band. Signal channel is converted over 1000nm using four-photon process in photonic crystal fiber. An error-free received performance was measured in the target visible band.
