Millimetre-wave Gigabit/s Wireless-over-Fibre Transmission Using Low Cost Uncooled Devices with Remote Local Oscillator Delivery

Abstract

We demonstrate the first gigabit/s modulated wireless data transmission using uncooled directly modulated lasers for low cost solution with remote millimetre-wave 40 GHz LO. Error free transmission (BER <10-9) is achieved for downlink and uplink.
