THz Tunable Slow Light in Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers

Abstract

We report tunable fractional delays up to 250% for 1ps pulses propagating through a 1.55 μm semiconductor optical amplifier at room temperature. Tuning is accomplished either optically or electrically with low amplitude variation across entire range.
