Abstract

We demonstrate co-polarized 20-Gbit/s DWDM NRZ-QPSK transmission over 1074 km using a phase-diversity optical homodyne receiver. The spectral efficiency is as high as 1.05 bit/s/Hz, which is limited by cross-phase modulation between DWDM channels.
